Other people called him 'the Count' ('hrabia'). He was a landowner from the vicinity of Rypin, and was ca. 60 years old. He had three sons and a daughter, who was the youngest of his children. His wife died before the war. When they came to Warsaw, they could, for some time, use their property they had left in Rypin, thanks to one of their Polish friends, Kalasinski, who from time to time delivered food to the Beldiger family and some other families . After some time Kalasinski bought from them a part of their property. He paied a large and honest sum of money for it, so that the Beldigers could maintain themselves in the ghetto. Only the oldest son, Jurek, traded a bit. Abraham Beldiger worked in R. Auerbach's kitchen (Leszno Street No. 40). He helped to serve the meals in the canteen. He was taken to the Umschlagplatz during the first Liqudation Action in 1942.
