Smuggling den (meta) was situated there; it was a place for smuggling goods and people to and from the ghetto. Motyl Binem described the exchange of goods on one August night in 1941 which lasted almost an hour. That night sacks with wheat, quarters of oxes, pigs, baskets with eggs, vegetables, potatoes etc. were transferred to the ghetto. Some people also passed including a girl - smuggler called Zosia.
