The Centos (Central Organisation for Orphan Care) - i.e. the central of the Centos - established in 1923, with its residence in Warsaw, at Freta Street No. 10. After the closure of the ghetto - at Leszno Street No. 2. The Centos united social institutions in about 200 cities in Poland. Since it was outlawed by the Germans in July 1940, all the social institutions of the General Government acted behind the Jewish Social Self-Help (ZSS), which took care of several institutions in Warsaw (including Korczak's Orphanage). Managed by Adolf Berman and Jozef Gitler.
