He lived with his mother in Warsaw in the Old Town. His mother died during the Ghetto Uprising during bombing. He was a carpenter and an insurgent. After the uprising he hid in the sewers with Jozef Antek and Kazik. At the end of September 1944 he came out with his friends from the sewers in Zoliborz.
