One of the (American) Jewish Distribution Committee (JOINT) directors, when the war breaks out, he is in Vienna. He leaves the city, but a German torpedo hits his ship. He is saved and gets to a camp near Szczecin. Thanks to the help of American Jews he is released and goes back to his family in Warsaw. Adler's neighbour in Mila Street, on 18 January 1943, he wakes him up warning him against a selection.
