An officer in the Austrian army from the time of the World War I. Translates the Jewish Police orders into German before they are taken to the Gestapo. He manages to get a citizenship not long before the deportation. In 1942 he and his family are deported to Vittel.

He hardly speaks Polish but it is not discouraging for a few ladies who visit him in the office every day - even the fact that he is getting married does not change this situation.
