He moved freely around Warsaw because he had false documents. He quit pedagogic and scientific work and started working in a real estate agency and earned a lot. He worked in a Polish Socialist Party (PPS) organization, and for some time as a tutor for some family living near Warsaw. He carried with him a briefcase with a radio inside, which he used to maintain a radio watch. When the Germans started to be interested in him, he moved to Cracow, and later on returned to Warsaw.
