In May 1943, the Szerman family hid with a group of 20 people at Swietojerska Street No. 36, on the fourth floor. The Germans discovered them, Mrs Szerman and her son were taken away, they survived the execution and wounded returned to the flat in the evening. Mrs Szerman died after a few days, her son survived.
