He was a hair-dresser, socialist, ex-member of The Society of Workers' Universities (TUR), a member of the Polish Socialist Workers' Party (RPPS). In March 1942 he participated in leading out a group of Polish officers from the Pawiak. Goldman, who met him in mid May 1943, wrote that after he had lost his wife and child, revenge became his only aim. Every morning he cleaned his Vis pistol. He often disappeared for a day or two, and after returning he told with a great satisfaction about murdering a man or two.
