When her mother, who was a doctor, died in the ghetto of typhus, she was 5. A Polish babysitter took her to Czestochowa. But after a few months she brought her back to her aunt to Warsaw, claiming, that the neighbours were suspecting something. Jasia could not stay with her aunt. She was sent to a children's camp. Then she was sent to Janina, and stayed there until the Warsaw uprising. She went to a nuns' school. After the Warsaw uprising she went with Janina probably to Piaseczno.
