Came from Czarnkow - her parents owned a shoe shop there. Until 1942 she was in the ghetto in Kolomyja together with them. Thanks to her stepmother's friend the Sledzinskis gave her shelter and took care of her until 1945. Her father died in the ghetto. Her mother died of cancer before the war. Her step mother was killed while traveling to Romania together with other Jews. The girl was ill - she lost her hair, had no eyebrows. Mrs. Sledzinska taught her at home - she recalls the girl's intelligence. In June 1945 the Jewish Association located her in Zatrzebie near Falenica.
