  • The name given to the occupied Lodz by Adolf Hitler's order on 11 April 1940. It was named after general Karl Liczmann, victor from the Brzeziny battle during so-called 'Bitwa Lodzka' (Battle of Lodz) in 1914. The name was valid to January 1945.
