Zofia walks to the Umschalgplatz in the same row with her friends - Marcel Reich, his wife Tosia, Rachel Singer and Gustawa Jarecka with her two small sons, Karol and Marek. Suddenly Marcel says that they should run away from the column. The four of them agree, Gustawa refuses, she won't make it with the children. They run, the Germans shot at them, but miss. They didn't bother to chase the Jews, who would not escape their fate anyway. They reached a cellar, and were safe for the time being.
