The inauguration for a children's center was taking place in a square not far from the Jewish Council. A policeman had noticed, in passing, that his colleague, who was on duty, was not letting in poorly dressed children. Indignant to such injustice, the policeman went to complain to the vice-president of the Jewish Council, the engineer Lichtenbaum. There he was told not to mendle in matters that do not concern him.
